He started with replacing the old thermostat. We had one of those old dial ones and it didn't seem to give an accurate temp reading.
It took some fussing with, but he finally got the new one installed. Isn't it nice?
Next he put in the new doorbell. That didn't take long, so there aren't any pics. It's nice to have, though.

Wish I had a better, closer picture..... |
The new sink won. And that is how you impulse buy a sink.
Putting it in is a whole other ballgame.... We got the damn thing home and it sat in the back room for about two months. After finishing up the thermostat and the doorbell, Grant was on a roll and decided to finally install the new sink. Fortunately for him, a friend stopped by. Poor Darin didn't know what hit him. All he wanted to do is have a beer with his buddy.
After the sink was out, Grant had to pull off a few pieces we needed to keep for the new sink.
Already looks better!
Darin stopped in for a beer and ended up installing a sink. What a deal!
Must have forgotten a piece.
Grant likes to supervise.
After all that the sink couldn't work. Yep. All that work for not. Turns out that we needed a new hose so the sink could reach the water pipes. So, I ended up with a brand, spankin' new sink that didn't work. Woo hoo!!
Fortunately, we had friends headed to our house for the weekend. The original plan was for the boys to work on a vehicle and us ladies were going to hang out while I did laundry. Well, that kind of happened. The guys did indeed work on Mike's vehicle, but us ladies got restless and decided to take down the wallpaper in the dining room. We made a party out of it. It started with just me and Marci, then Jackie stopped by with her girls. The kids played and we scraped and scraped and scraped. It felt so good to get rid of that stuff!

Grant was so excited! He said when he got home that he was dreading taking down the wallpaper when the time would come. He was very happy that he didn't have to deal with it. I think that's why the sink got finished that night.
Mike spent some quality time under the sink.
Finishing things up.
When on a roll, fix the broken drawer front!
Marci polishing things up. Doesn't it shine!
Grant attempted to straighten out the cabinet doors. They swing open on their own. Unfortunately, they aren't adjustable, so they still swing open. At least he tried.
Switching the direction the fridge doors open so I can get in them while I'm cooking instead of having to go around. That was a pain.
Marci helped!
Have to switch the bottom door, too.
They also switch the direction the dryer door opens, too. Now I don't have to go over the door to put the laundry in after taking it out of the washer. No pictures of that, though. I think I was in bed by that time. All of this happened late at night. Glad it's all done now and Grant was happy to cross of some things on his honey-do list.
All and all it was a busy couple of days. Installed a new doorbell, new thermostat, new sink, fixed the cabinet drawer front, took down wallpaper, switched around some door, and had a few beers. Uff da! I'm tired just thinking about it.
