First Thing's First .... New Floors!

When we first looked at our house with the Realtor, we knew that if we got it, we would have to replace the floors ASAP.  Especially in the kitchen where parts of the parkay flooring were just simply missing!  How does part of a floor go missing?

Here's my friend, Jenelle, sweeping up the last of the old flooring.  Wish I had a picture of what the old stuff looked like.  Oh, well.

Here's my honey, Grant, pulling up the nasty old carpet out of the laundry room/office.  Check out that sweet flame boarder on the wall behind him.  

A quick pic of the boxes and boxes of new flooring.  And, of course, a full view of that sweet boarder! You're jealous, I know.

It was pretty late when the guys finally got started putting in the floor.  We decided on a gorgeous multi-colored laminate.  Can you see the imprint of the old flooring?  It was simply awful! 

 Here's the finished product in the kitchen! Isn't it beautiful! And soooooo much better than that nasty, awful flooring that was in here before.

I'm so happy we have such wonderful friends that are capable of helping us with our larger home improvement projects!  And that they're willing!! I think that's the bigger thing!  Our floors turned out absolutely fantastically! A BIG, HUGE thanks to everyone that pitched in that weekend with the floors and the cleaning!
