Thank goodness for good friends! When we were first about to move in after we bought our house, it was an absolute disaster. If it wasn't for our fantabulous friends, we'd still be cleaning up after the previous owners!
Bestie, Melissa, helped out with the upstairs built-ins. She also brought a whole mess of cleaning supplies.
Missy was bah-rilliant and suggested we wash the walls with sponge mops since we weren't going to paint right away. What a time saver!! She's such a smart lady.
My dear friend (and new neighbor!!) Cathy came and tackled the upstairs bathroom. That shower had never been so clean! She sacrificed her favorite pair of jeans for me. I love her!
Marci was the dusting queen. A little Murphy's Oil does wonders.
Jenelle was awesome in the kitchen. She helped take up the old floor, then she moved on to cleaning up the cabinets and drawers so they would be move in ready.
As we were washing the walls, we did our best to take down any boarders and wallpaper. It was EVERYWHERE in this house! There's still some left, but we're doing our best to make it all GONE. The living room had some pretty sweet wolves near the ceiling. There are still a few left, but soon they will be gone. Yes, SOON they will be gone.
And this was the most attroscious part of the whole house, I think. I'm not sure these people ever cleaned their floors! They were sooooooo gross!! The lower left is the living room which I went over three times in an effort to removes some stubborn stains. The stains won. The lower right is the dining room. Can you tell which side I cleaned and which side I hadn't? Ew. But it's all better now!! Someday we're going to replace all of this icky stuff. Someday...
Thanks again to all of our wonderful friends!! And to Rug Doctor, Murphy's Oil, Pinesol, Windex, etc.....
On a side note, all that icky wallpaper in the dining room is GONE!! We've painted and are in the process of a wall treatment. No worries, it's not wallpaper! Once I have everything together I'll post the finished product.
